Acqua Group has acquired the majority shareholding of Young Digitals S.p.A., a digital creative studio based in Padua, specialist designers and implementers of in-house omni-channel communication projects.

Founded in 2010 by Michele Polico, Young Digitals expects to close 2019 with a turnover of 4 million euros and growth of 50% on the previous year. Young Digitals now has a team of about 50 people and counts among its customers leading names in the food, design, fashion, jewellery, luxury, finance and entertainment sectors, including AIA Group, Safilo, B&B Italia, San Carlo, Fendi, Police, Matilde Vicenzi, Sodastream and The Space Cinema.

President Davide Arduini and CEO Andrea Cimenti commented: “The acquisition of Young Digitals follows those of EMG and Fuel in the last three years. This phase of our growth and corporate reorganization strategy was started in 2018 when we became part of the Elite programme of the Italian Stock Exchange, and continued when we implemented a new management model. With this acquisition, we are strengthening our presence in the digital field and accelerating development beyond Italy thanks to clients and international projects already in our portfolio, to offer clients and partners a complete communication service. We closed 2018 with the best results in our history, with revenues of almost 17 million euros and an Ebitda of 1.5 million euros, and we expect to reach 22 million euros in revenues in 2019. We are aiming to consolidate our structure and raise financial resources to carry out new, international M&A operations.”

Michele Polico, CEO of Young Digitals, underlined: “This is an extremely important moment for Young Digitals, which, from my point of view as an entrepreneur, takes place at the right time and in the best way to sustain and support our new phase of growth, not only in quantity but above all quality. Quality of ideas, processes, organisational structure, and therefore fundamentally of the people we have always managed to attract, and still attract today. Young Digitals is a company which was built from the bottom up, always working to grow and become stronger, and it has continuously done so starting from the people and their qualities: for this reason in the first three years we created a team before we could afford an office, and for this reason as soon as we had our first office we decided to include a human resources manager, well over three years before an administrative manager. We had three years in start-up phase, and a second three years of growth that saw us increase from 5 to 50 people, and the last two years in which, without growing, we changed our skin and became what we are today. 2019 is the beginning of a new phase: we are expanding greatly and we decided to do that from within a group, in a solid and structured way, with a more overarching vision. The decision to do so within Acqua Group was taken after more than two years of dialogue with the market: similar vision and values, and above all a human and personal approach – that of Andrea, Davide and Roberto – have left me in no doubt that this is the group within which to grow.”

The agreement provides for Davide Arduini, Andrea Cimenti and Roberto Frassinelli to join the Board of Directors of Young Digitals and Michele Polico to join the Board of Directors of Acqua to promote integration and in particular to contribute to the Group’s strategy in the coming years.
